Christian specialises predominantly in corporate, commercial, regulatory, governance and general compliance work in sport. 

“My work covers a broad spectrum of the sport sector and I really enjoy the variety of work I get involved in. On any given day, I could be advising on the sale or acquisition of a sporting organisation, a complex sports regulatory matter and a stadium naming rights partnership (all before lunch!). By being involved in so much of my clients’ business, I can be across most things going on within their organisation and seek to fulfil the role of trusted adviser to them.

I have extensive experience working on mergers and acquisitions in the football sector and have advised on over 30 deals involving Premier League, EFL, National League and foreign clubs.

I also regularly help clients on a wide range of commercial arrangements across sport – from kit supply, sponsorship and partnership arrangements to representative, promotion and tour agreements (and everything in between).

Sport is constantly evolving and regularly throws up new issues and challenges – whether these be changes to the regulatory landscape or the way an organisation wants to operate or be structured. Finding pragmatic solutions to these problems is a part of my job I find incredibly rewarding.”
